Privacy policy

This policy explains what information the Act On Word app and website (“Act On Word”, “we”, “us”) collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the app on Android, iPhone and the web at https://app.actonword.com.

What we collect

We do not use advertising trackers. The app does not ask for your location, contacts or microphone. The camera and photos are used only when you choose to upload a picture.

Who sees your information

• You see all your own information.
• Other members see what you post in the community, and your name and points on leaderboards.
• Your church’s pastor or leader, if you joined through a church: your name, phone, progress and last active date. Not your payments or email.
• Our team (administrators, managers and finance staff) see what they need to support you, follow up and keep records.

Services we use

These companies process information for us, only to provide Act On Word:

• Supabase: database and file storage
• Render: hosting of the app and website
• Google (Gemini): computer-generated answers for My Teacher and the App Guide, and translation of lessons. Your question and the lesson content are sent to create the answer
• Resend: sending sign-in codes and emails
• Google Play and Apple App Store: delivering the app to your phone

Some of these services store data outside India. We use them under their data protection terms.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete it within 30 days, except payment records we must keep by law. Backups are overwritten within 90 days.

Your choices and rights

• See and change your profile and language in the app.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct it.
• Delete your account.
• Stop emails from us by writing to us.

You can use these rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act and other laws that apply to you. Email actonword@gmail.com.

Children

Act On Word is meant for people aged 13 and older. Young people under 18 should use it with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. If you think a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), sign-in codes instead of passwords for members, and limited access for our team. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your email account safe.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
